COLA coming to your neighborhood?
COLA board members are beginning a tour of as many neighborhood district council meetings as we can get to to discuss the need for more Off-Leash Areas in Seattle. The announcement for the Delridge Neighborhood District Council appeared on the West Seattle Blog this morning:
“DELRIDGE NEIGHBORHOOD DISTRICT COUNCIL: 7 pm, Youngstown Cultural Arts Center. Discussion topics are expected to include the newly announced plan for a “safe parking” lot in Highland Park for people who live in their vehicles, and a discussion about the city’s forthcoming People, Dogs, and Parks Plan, with Citizens for Off-Leash Areas (COLA) providing a guest. (4408 Delridge Way SW)”
We will also be in Southeast Seattle, and more announcements to come!

I just wanted to lend my support to your very worthy cause. I recently traveled through and stayed in Seattle with my two dogs. We took full advantage of any off -leash dog areas we could find. As a tourist, visiting your fine city, it is important to me that I can find safe, quality areas to let my girls stretch their legs, in the only way off-leash areas can do. RV travel and camping are quite popular in your area. Most of us travel with pets. Being able to easily find off leash parks, in every neighborhood, is a great way to invite new visitors to your area and allow us to learn about your community! Plus we tend to shop locally! It’s a win for everyone!!
I am from NYC and know that the off-leash dog parks have become a helpful tool in cleaning up (not only picking up after ourselves but other non dog folk) and keeping large city park safer and more secure (dogs and people in parks early morning and late evening deter crime). Please support Off Leash Dog Areas!!!! The more the better!
