Westcrest Park is located at the top of “Boeing Hill” west of Boeing Field, offering a great view of downtown Seattle, Mount Baker and the Cascades. Westcrest is a mixture of developed park and second growth forest covering 80+ acres, and is adjacent to portions of the Duwamish greenbelt offering plenty of exploring opportunities. The park offers many trails with occasional sightings of urban wildlife including foxes, owls and eagles.
The off-leash area includes the service road to the east and southeast side of the reservoir, but it does not include the lower forest loop to the east of the service road or the Douglas Fir forest directly south of the off-leash area. Recent improvements include a new parking lot, fencing, shelters, lighting, and drinking water.
The park also features a Small Dog / Shy Dog area.
Currently, parking is available in the Westcrest parking lot accessible from 8th Ave SW. However, the parking lot is about 150 yard away from the off-leash area. Please leash your dogs when walking between the parking lot and the off-leash area. There is limited on-street parking on the north side of the park on SW Cloverdale between 7th Ave SW and 5th Ave SW. This a residential area, so please be mindful of pedestrians, especially at the intersections. Water is provided to the off-leash area by a string of garden hoses that are connect to a spigot that may or may not work.
A new Special Needs easily accessible area was completed in the summer of 2009 and is now available.
